The success story of the French duo Ibeyi with a few chapters in San Francisco

For the last 3 years, the French - Venezuelan - Cuban duo's great story is all about success.

Since 2015, the twin sisters Lisa-Kaindé and Naomi have had a quite pretty intense, busy, creative, nomadic... and so successful life and career.

In short... what happened to them for the past 3 years?

2 albums, Ibeyi in 2015 and Ash in 2017.

2 Coachellas, in 2016 and in 2018 for the upcoming edition.

4 concerts in San Francisco (to think local!) : The Independent, Outside Lands, The Fillmore in november 2017 and back to he Fillmore in April. Did we mention the appearances at our beloved Amoeba on Haight? Done.

Beyonce's recognition. In 2016, they appeared along Beyonce in her movie Lemonade. Ibeyi has a genuine admiration for Beyonce (who has not actually...) and they felt so fortunate that the immense artist she is, put among her favorites, their song River. (We have something in common with Beyonce:-)) Another sunbeam on their young career.

The Fader's front page last spring. Which does not happen that often with French artists.

The sisters became recently Nike's muses with the Air Force 1 Velvet for example. Ok... very commercial. And still... those sneakers are so stylish:-))

And... JR is the artist behind the beautiful photo for their album Ash.

So far, so so good !

But let's talk music only. We are still fan of River and Oya from their first album.

And now with Ash, we listen to Away Away, over and over again, as well as to No Man is Big Enough for My Arms, Me Voy... and Ash, nagging with its incantatory style.
