Tacolicious

High-end Taqueria in the spirit of San Francisco.

The adventure began with a taco stand at the Ferry Building’s Farmer’s Market.

Given the success of the concept, the owners opened a Tacolicious restaurant in the Marina, and another one more recently in the Mission District, along the famous Valencia Corridor. Both restaurants are nicely designed places with a modern and trendy feel, but the space on Valencia is a lot larger than the one in the Marina. We love its outdoor patio, colorful tiles, comfortable banquette making it a perfect spot for lunch. And it also has a dine-in Tequila bar next door, making it a perfect spot for a casual dinner with friends.

The food as well is somewhat unusual for a Mexican joint. At Tacolicious, you won't be served any burritos, the popular dish of the Mission’s taquerias, but other Latin American specialties like tacos de guisado (small tacos filled with braised meats), enchiladas, empanadas and guacamole, as welll as fresh seasonal salads, such as the beet salad with grapefruit and pumpkin seeds. Saladicious!

Chocolate addicts will enjoy the dessert menu: traditional churros with mexican hot chocolate, chocolicious taco waffle shell, pan con Valrhona chocolate, sevillano olive oil and sea salt … are among the irresistible sweet delicacies listed on the menu.

Last but not least: the never-ending drink menu. More than 50 tequilas, house cocktails with or without alcohol, served by the glass or in a pitcher, an extensive list of Mexican beers ...  you will find what you are looking for, no doubt.
