SHORT TO DO LIST BEFORE THE FLOOD!

Storm alert for San Francisco forecasted for Thursdy, December 11, 2014! Here are some things you could want to do.

California Storm: High Wind Warnings, Flood Watches, Blizzard Warnings Issued for West Coast Storm - weather.com

That is what we could read for the last 2 days. BUt we were not sure whether we had to take the warnings serioulsy or not. Now the schools have announced they would be closed. It is getting serious actually. Anyhow, advice is always good to take.

Based on our experience (and that means that we have been in SF for quite a long time...), here are some stuffs you should keep in mind.

Think of having a couple of candles! Shortages could happen easily. Anyway, you should have them already. It is in the emergency earthquake kit.

Think of the buckets and everything that could be helpful with leaks like bassinets, bowls, vases...

And where are your good old rain boots? You know the expression ''rain or shine''? Tomorrow, it's rain.

What about the leaves piled up in front of your garage door. Hurry up and get rid of them. You would blame yourself and your laziness if your garage happened to be flooded because of a clogged drain.

With your car, stay away from trees! They tend to fall in that kind of extreme weather conditions.

With your car, stay away from the flying garbage containers! Trust us. They look falsely harmless.

Avoid parking your car on steep streets. Tiny fancy cars like Fiat 500 or Minis could easily float and... go!

Also avoid the Sausalito exit in Marin. We know Marins that drowned there.

Please, also stop the automatic watering system in your garden. It is ridiculous!

And of course, forget about your wandering on Ocean Beach. But you know that already, right?

We wish you a quiet, peaceful, harmless storm.
