POP-UP BY CARPENTERS WORKSHOP GALLERY IN SAN FRANCISCO

Until January 17, 2018, the renowned Carpenters Workshop Gallery is in San Francisco with an exhibition, a first of its kind on the West Coast, in collaboration with 836M.

The gallery relies on the partnership of friends Julien Lombrail & Loic Le Gaillard. Carpenters Workshop Gallery opened 4 spaces in London, Paris and New York.

In 2015, they acquired a 5th space in Roissy, France, a former foundry, they turned into a workshop for their artists. The gallery became the first to integrate a production facility dedicated to artistic research and development of collectible design and bringing together an elite team of artisans.

Last January, Carpenters Workshop Gallery participated for the first time to the FOG Design + Art Fair in San Francisco underscoring the gallery's commitment to developing the US market, and specifically the West Coast including: San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, Portland, and Vancouver.

That is when we met Vanessa Suchar-Marcus who had just joined the Gallery's team. Locally based, she will contribute to elevate Carpenters Workshop Gallery's presence on the West Coast, starting with San Francisco.

Until January 17, 2018 go and discover splendid artworks by prominent American and European artists Studio Job, Studio Drift, Random International, Maarten Baas, Vincenzo de Cotiis, Ingrid Donat, Frederik Molenschot, Sebastian Brakjovic, Charles Trevelyan, Johanna Grawunder, Nacho Carbonell, Pierre Jeannert, Robert Stadler, and California native Rick Owens.

In a cozy, muted atmosphere, 836M invites you to discover beautiful works that will inspire and enthrall you all at once.

 At the opening, we loved...

... the Grandfather Clock Self Portrait by Maarten Baas. His clocks lead us to a sweet reflexion about time (top photo). It mixes art, film and design. The artist islike the time carrier. He is drawing it, erasing, changing, accompanying, witnessing it... so many symbols.

... the lamp Fragile Future by Studio Drift.

Its name, its delicateness, the dandelions ... everything is so subtle. And it brought us back to the SFMoma where we had found out about Tomás Saraceno whose exhibition Stillness in Motion - Cloud Cities displayed works with a common inspiration.

... the beautiful table Cocoon by Nacho Carbonel. Its pink tones, the texture... it seems to be alive, almost human.

18 works by 12 artists to discover until January 17, 2018 with this pop-up exhibition by Carpenters Workshop Gallery at 836M. Their partnership offers a great window in the heart of Jackson Square to outstanding works and artists.
