ANCHOR & HOPE

East Coast meets West Coast Fish House

For oysters and seafood lovers!

A friend of ours recently had lunch at Anchor & Hope. She loved her experience so much that she wished to share it with you. Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review about this seafood restaurant and sharing it with us!

...

Anchor & Hope is located in the Financial District, in an old warehouse with open beams and marine themed with mirror effects. You can take a sit at the bar, large and wide, or at a table but you definetely should book in advance, either lunch or dinner, because the place is pretty popular and busy.

The raw selection is impressive and well explained (detailed description in the menu and by the waiter), the seafood platter is definitively a good choice (with oysters, shrimps, ceviche and crab remoulade). The Anchor & Hope lobster roll is absolutely  amazing and you can also taste the perfect linguine and clams.

Pair it with a glass of white wine (Alsace, Loire, Languedoc represented by the Caberney of Mas de Daumas Gassac, Bourgogne... but also wines from Hungary, Portugal, Italy, Spain.. such a wide european selection!)

Tiny detail we loved: the home-made chips and the fries are served in cornets, put on aluminum bases, like candles. The result looks rather good on tables…

This place is definitively a good choice for a working lunch or a dinner with your friends with its special and trendy ambiance…we forget  that we are right in the heart of San Francisco!
