8 SAN FRANCISCO VISTA POINTS

In San Francisco, Grace Jones would sing ''La vie en blue!''! Here are 8 breathtaking views of San Francisco and the Bay, from San Francisco!

San Francisco with her 40 hills offers to each one of us a lot of point of views. We selected some of them where you could get a great shot after climbing a hill, or just enjoy the view from a different perspective. Follow us with your camera around your neck and let’s go explore 8 vista points.

BERNAL HEIGHTS

A hill almost always very dry where you will be able to see the fog coming from far away behind the hills  and see the downtown skyline in front of you. No water view from Bernal Heights. If you take the hike down the hill you will see also many architectural houses to take picture of.

HUNTERS POINT

Far away from the rest of the city, Hunters Point was a military zone especially for the Navy and  boats. The place is amazing almost a no mans land and the buildings are for many years now occupied by artists studios. The view to Downtown is amazing and on the other side the view of this huge crane, symbol of a past time. Explore!

COIT TOWER

We love to explore Coit Tower at night. This famous tower and its views from all around is stunning but we like it at night because you will be able to see the Bay Bridge and his magical lights and the buildings shining in the darkness.

PACIFIC HEIGHTS

A must to go in the city. Huge mansions, with wonderful gardens and views from every corner. Take the steps along the Presidio park or the streets all around, climb the stairs and look at the view over the entrance of the bay, facing Tiburon, with some little boats on the surface…like a postcard view.

TANK HILL

Just a few streets aways down below the Twin Peaks this point of view is a gem. The rocks standing on the edge , view on one side of the Cole Valley district and the Golden Gate in the rear and the city looking towards the East Bay on the other side.

A bench and you can enjoy for many hours...

DE YOUNG MUSEUM TOWER

It is easy to go : it is open almost daily until 5pm and it is free. Think of the Tower of the De Young Museum building. It will give you the feeling to be a bird flying over the canopy all around the park.

GOLDEN GATE HEIGHTS PARK

Not as well known as other spots, this is an amazing vista point. Sure you will have to climb many steps but you will not regret it. The view is totally breathtaking : ocean, sunset, Golden Gate, parks, houses, streets…and skyline … everything is there. Right before your eyes! Smile!

SAUSALITO SEA PLANE

If you have time and want more… let's cross the Bridge and take a seaplane from Sausalito. When you will be up there… views, the city and nature will not have secrets for you anymore.
