XTEND, a smart expandable carry-on that will make your travels easier
[Partner Article] XTEND, the world's first expandable SMART carry-on!
I had met Jérôme and Nathalie some months ago. Since then, we kept in touch via the social networks. That's how I found out about XTEND and its Kickstarter campaign.
I just came back from a trip to France with a Company whose luggage policy makes it sometimes hard to find the appropriate luggage. That's why the concept of an expandable carry-on sounded so convenient and relevant to me.
XTEND is a project that was conceived in San Francisco, with a real French touch, and that could accompany you on your trips between San Francisco and France. Sounds and looks very LostinSF, doesn't it?
So I asked a few questions to Jérôme Tricault, XTEND co-founder with Louis Develay. Let's share what you should want to know about XTEND.
The project, in a few words... about the team, the concept itself...
The team in pictures...
Co-Inventor of the Magicbed, instant baby cot that will replace the traditional folding cot, Jerome Tricault strikes again with a disruptive smart expandable carry-on suitcase for non-stop travelers that do not want to choose anymore between carry-on and checked-in.
XTEND won a award in Vegas...
Xtend® won an Innovation Award at the TGA show in Vegas for the best suitcase for its clever engineering and awesome design.
A SF based concept?
Xtend has been created & designed in SF by Jerome Tricault while in Mill Valley after an awful trip to NYC when he realized an expandable suitcase would have pared him a nightmare.
What makes it so different from what already exists ?
Unique features are : Expandability +40 % in volume, Fingerprint lock and USB C socket for charging laptops on the go.
What do you miss the most now you left SF?
The positive energy, the Bridge and the Bay.
If you like the idea as much as we do, you can support it now via the Kickstarter campaign, by taking advantage of the ''early supporters'' prices.
