The First Bilingual Fair in San Francisco

Bilingualism, and more broadly, languages learning and acquisition, are a genuine priority at the Lycée Français de San Francisco.

The Lycée Français de San Francisco decided to sponsor the first Bilingual Fair that will take place on February 3, 2018 , from 10am to 4pm, at the Méridien in San Francisco.

Bilingualism has never been as crucial as it is considered now. Multiple studies have depicted and detailed its benefits especially in the educational area. Parents are  aware of it and want to find the best opportunities for their children.

The first bilingual fair is geared toward parents looking to find out about bilingual education. Main local actors of the bilingual education community will attend to introduce themselves and answer questions.

More than 40 exhibitors, practicing and promoting bilingual education in a wide variety of languages (French, Spanish, Chinese, Italian, German, Korean, Japanese, Arabic, Hebrew, and more) will be there. Informative conferences with bilingualism specialists have also been scheduled.

The Lycée Français de San Francisco has organized 2 conferences:

10:30 AM | GROWING UP WITH TWO LANGUAGES : THE EFFECT OF BILINGUALISM ON COGNITIVE DEVELOPMENT

by Ashley CHUNG, of the The Lifespan Cognition and Development Lab | York University

3PM | WHY BILINGUALISM MATTERS IN CALIFORNIA

by  Covadonga LAMAR PRIETO, Co-Director with Prof. Judith F. Kroll (Dept. of Psychology) of the Bilingualism Matters chapter at UC Riverside.
