THE BAY LIGHTS
San Francisco celebrates its dear Bay Bridge and covers it with a luminous dress for the next 2 years.
Last year, the SF MOMA honored the artist Jim Campbell who enchanted us with his Exploded Views. (Read our article)
He also had created a gigantic sculpture back in 2010 and exhibited it in New York, Scattered Light.
Leo Villareal knows how to play with lights too and he chose San Francisco to welcome his great project. The artist has wraped with lights (when Christo wraped with fabrics and draperies) our beloved Bay Bridge.
Christo said about Leo Villareal's creation that it is going to be a "milestone in public art"!
It is going to be the world’s largest LED light sculpture with its 25,000 white LED lights that are individually programmed by the artist Leo Villareal to create an outstanding show for the next 2 years.
The Bay Bridge will put on its dress of lights every day, from dusk to 2 am.
