OUTDOOR CINEMA PROGRAM THIS SUMMER IN SAN FRANCISCO

in

From June to September, movie screenings get some fresh air with outdoor movie summer nights in San Francisco.

The San Francisco Neighborhood Theater Foundation (SFNTF) produces the Film Night in the Park outdoor film series in San Francisco and the annual Mostly British Film Festival at the Vogue Theatre, but that is a different story taking place in February.

2015 program mixes classic movies, recent favorite flicks and a great animated film for the youngest to be attractive to the largest public possible.

Locations are still the same: the fancy Dolores Park, classic Washington Square and popular Union Square. The good news is that The Yard at Mission Rock is also supposed to host 3 movie nights. Movies have not been announced yet, but a tentative calendar has been released.

DOLORES PARK

JUNE 11, 2016 - PITCH PERFECT

AUGUST 13, 2016 - THE GOONIES

SEPTEMBER 24, 2016 - STAR WARS THE FORCE AWAKENS

UNION SQUARE

JULY 23, 2016 - FINDING NEMO

SEPTEMBER 10, 2016 - THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA

WASHINGTON SQUARE

AUGUST 27, 2016 - LOST IN TRANSLATION

Attendees are encouraged to picnic before screenings and are discouraged from bringing chairs... but blankets and pillows are great ideas.

Screenings are scheduled at dusk. Around 8pm is an acceptable estimate. Arrive sooner than that to find a good spot.

THE YARD AT MISSION ROCK

JULY 9, 2016

AUGUST 20, 2016

OCTOBER 1ST, 2016

No announcement yet regarding the movies, but considering the success met by Jaws last August, we can reasonnably say it looks like a great plan.

HAVE A GREAT MOVIE TIME!
