Kids museums

Of course, you will go to the SF Zoo and visit the Bay Aquarium! They are like worlds apart on the map, but there no way to ignore them.

Otherwise, San Francisco offers a galore of museums specialized for kids or that you can visit with them.

California Academy of Sciences

A must-visit!! The whole building is self sufficient regarding its energy supplying.

The place reminds us a bit of the Museum of Natural History in NY for some things like the corridor leading to the penguins.

The tropical forest seems to have built its inspiration on the Biodome in Montreal.

A beautiful place and a lot of initiatives to renew the program all year long.

Open everyday 9:30AM - 5:00PM except on Sunday  (from 11:00AM).

Membership is a good option. More info.

Good to know:

4 sundays a year, the admission to the Academy is free! It is a bright idea to arrive early. It is on a first come, first served basis.
