God exists... he lives in Belgium!

in

The Brand New Testament, a fantasy comedy by the Belgian director, Jaco van Dormael, with Benoît Poelvoorde and Catherine Deneuve, opens December 16, 2016 in San Francisco and the Bay Area.

Jesus' sister and God's wife join forces to fix disasters caused by these 2 men. That is the spirit. Belgian humor with a blasphemous touch.

Jaco van Dormael delivered a great funny and hilarious tale with a beautiful esthetics that reminds us of Caro and Jeunet movies. And he is assisted by a fantastic casting including Benoît Poelvoorde and Catherine Deneuve.

The story briefly...

God exists! He lives in Brussels and he’s a real bastard, a petty tyrant to his wife and daughter, spending his time inventing new laws to frustrate mankind. His son is known well; JC managed to escape his father’s grasp and live among us, getting himself killed in the process. But God (Benoit Poelvoorde, Coco Before Chanel) has a daughter, too. Ea (Pili Groyne) is ten years old and has had enough of her father using humanity as his playthings. When she spies the right opportunity, she hacks into his computer and leaks to the entire world via text message their inevitable date of death, creating pandemonium; then she escapes out into the world to recruit six new apostles.
