ASAF AVIDAN IN SAN FRANCISCO

The Bimbo's 365 Club definitely looks like Asaf Avidan's favorite concert venue in San Francisco. Actually, he'd better not change his mind. It is a perfect match.

Since he released Different Places, Asaf Avidan already gave 3 concerts at the Bimbo's. We were there for the last one. It was such a precious moment. We can't help but smiling thinking of it.

At that time (barely a year ago), he came to introduce his second album Gold Shadow, an album with road trips effects, some Western movies tunes, and more than ever Bob Dylan and Janis Joplin references. It could sound melodramatic sometimes, with his hypersensitive voice that seems to shatter and then rebounce in higher tones, with his fragile and slender silhouett, and yet he is funny, handles humour and derision, loves talking to the public and jump with a gracious agility from his guitar to his piano.

This year, he is going on with a solo trip inthe US with, announced so far, 4 concerts in Brooklyn interrupted by a SF getaway, here, at the Bimbo's, Philadelphie and LA also.

To get an idea, take a look at the video Asaf Avidan recently shared of one of his rehearsals with Cyclamen from Different Pulses.

Since we heard the news, we started to listen to Gold Shadow all over again. It is a pure delight with renewed surprises. We especially love Little Parcels of an Endless Time.

Asaf  Avidan hasa knack for live performances. A great experience, apparently for him, and definitely for us.

Except last minute change of plans, we should go again. See you then and there!
