A portrait session at Photobooth

The new trend in photography? Going back in time. Instagram, Hipstamatic… and now Photobooth, a new photo studio on Valencia Street, offering much more than your portrait by a professional photographer. Using the 19 century black and white tintype technique, Photobooth’s photographer will capture your expressions the oldfashion way forever.

The tintype session in itself is a pleasant experience. Taking your picture will take 10 minutes. As the process requires the image to be exposed and developed while it’s still wet, you will have to stay extremely still (and show your best smile or not) for 10 to 30 seconds, your gaze looking straight at the camera.

Another 10 minutes of patience and you will be able to see your portrait. Stunning, striking, quite flattering, unique!

Each tintype portrait is crafted on a 4" x 5" aluminum plate and is packaged in a display envelope and sent to your email address in a digital format a few days later. Now, you know where to go for an outstanding Linkedin or Facebook picture!
