836M, the gallery based in the heart of San Francisco, celebrates Alonzo King and his art of ballet

The 836M gallery has just inaugurated its beautiful exhibition dedicated to Alonzo King, a true local reference in contemporary dance renowned worldwide. LostinSF tells you more after the grand opening.

When Alonzo King LINES ballet, local dance company celebrates its 35th birthday, it's all San Francisco that dances. In fact, during the same week, you will find the dance company in the 836M gallery and at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts for a series of 8 performances.

Since 1982 Alonzo King, the visionary choreographer, has been working with musicians, photographers, and more recently visual artists to show us how the different arts communicate with each other.

It is with the 836M gallery that the company has naturally decided to collaborate to share a summary of the talents that revolve around it.

The glass front of the gallery overlooking Montgomery Street (the “M” of 836M) comes alive with the video of director Kate Duhamel and excerpts from the various performances of the company LINES.

If you want to indulge yourself and experience a truly unique dance moment, make sure you get your tickets for Alonzo King ballet performances between October 5th and October 14th at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.
