THE OSCAR-ANIMATED MOVIES

The ceremony will take place on March 2, 2014. Here are the animated movies to watch or re-watch in SF, now or later.
The 5 competing animated movies are...
Despicable Me 2
The Croods
The Wind Rises
Frozen
Ernest et Célestine
Despicable Me 2 is no longer in theaters, but definitely available on DVD. Don't miss Pharell Williams performance at the ceremony. It should be an amazing, Happy sing along!
The Croods. On streaming on Netflix. Enjoy!
Frozen... Still showing in many theaters all over the Bay Area. Its soundtrack is also a huge success. The album reached 1st place in the last Top 40 published in Rolling Stone magazine. Try the Sing Along the very same day of the Oscars!

The Wind Rises
The last and latest Miyazaki is now showing in SF and beyond. Despite the fact that the tribute to Jiro Horikoshi is obviously questionnable and lenient, and it's hard to disregard it, Miyazaki's talent and poetry are intact and some pictures are real paintings, slightly and softly animated.
Ernest et Célestine
You maybe had the opportunity to watch it last year at the San Francisco International Film Festival.
Just take a look at the trailer and you should fall, the way we did, for the poetry and the gracefulness of Ernest and Célestine. So very charming!
Ernest and Célestine will be released in LA and NY this coming March 14. Other cities should follow. Let's hope, SF will be one of them. We'll keep you posted.
