Art MRKT San Francisco
For its second edition, artMRKT San Francisco will feature 70 galleries from around the globe, showcasing historically important work alongside relevant contemporary pieces and projects. An ideal context for discovery, exploration and acquisition of art.
Mark your calendar for a keynote artist presentation by Richard Misrach.
Saturday, May 19th, 2:00PM - 3:00pm, Discussion Theater
Born in Los Angeles, in 1949, Misrach is credited with helping pioneer the renaissance of color photography and large-scale presentation in the 1970s. Here the artist will discuss his work, with a special emphasis on his most recent projects and his photographs from his acclaimed Golden Gate series. In 1997, Misrach began a four-year project photographing the Golden Gate Bridge at all times of day and night, in every season, from a single vantage point on his front porch. If you cannot afford one of his pictures, you can buy the latest edition of his book and have it signed after the event at the Aperture Foundation Booth.
