Coffees, expressos, cappuccinos...

The large number of small neighborhood "coffee shops"  is one of the reasons that make French people say San Francisco looks like a French city. One difference though : many of these cafes offer free Wi-Fi connection... A reminder we are in the Sillicon Valley ! So bring your laptop, a good book or a newspaper, and relax while drinking your regular coffee, espresso...

Doing a selection is almost impossible. Here are the ones you must try (most of them are in The Mission) :

In the Mission :

Ritual Coffee roaster.

A coffee for connoisseurs ! One of the best coffee in the city. Online shop. Pastries as well.

1026 Valencia street, Mission.

Four Barrel Coffee.

This place is hype, the industrial decor is great, the coffee is really good, the pastries are to die for... Need more to be convinced ?

375 Valencia street, Mission.

Revolution Café.

Paris meets the Mission District ! This cafe is also open at night. You can have a drink there and on some particular days you can enjoy Live music or a movie (Classic, jazz, folk ...).

Mission @ Valencia. 22nd street, Mission.

More information about the concerts on Myspace or Facebook.

Craftsman & Wolves

So Valencia! Simple, uncluttered, a menu offering so many sweets for breakfast, lunch and tea time! Plus a terrasse on Valencia.

Mais aussi...

Good insiders address: 1 Ecker Place. Sweet and savory delights downtown.

Divis is the latest place to be. The Mill is a bit noisy, but the location is nice and sunny in a key neighborhood.

Should have been on Valencia but had the bright idea to land on Stanyan close to Haight Street. Extremely uncluttered (and we like it), good coffee and stylish and creative tables.
